Holiday in Tignes,
With My home in Tignes.
Located
in the heart of the Vanoise mountain range, the ski area of Tignes is
linked to the area of Val d’Isère and offers more than 300 km of
slopes. Spread out between 1550 metres above sea level in the village
of Les Brévières and 3456 metres above sea level at the arrival of
the Grande Motte cable car, the area offers a wide range
of slopes to suit all levels. Tignes is the first resort in the
French Alps to open its slopes at the end of autumn, enabling the
most enthusiastic skiers to rush to the slopes of the Grande Motte
glacier. And once the snow cover is sufficient, the ski areas of
Tignes and Val d’Isère form a single ski area and multiply the
skiing and downhill options.
In
spring, after 2100 meters above sea level, the snow still covers the
area and the lifts are open to take you to the top of the slopes.
Soft snow, sun at its zenith - these are the exceptional conditions
that you will find when skiing in spring in Tignes!
Since
2020, Tignes has been one of the areas labelled as “Playing
fields”: it is here that Olympic and high level sportsmen come to
train, winter and summer alike, because the weather conditions and
the facilities ensure them perfectly adapted training conditions.
The
ski area of Tignes-Val d’Isère is built around several spectacular
mountain peaks: the Grande Motte (3,656 m), famous for its glacier,
the Grande Casse (3,855 m) with its sharp peak line and steep sides,
and finally the Grande Sassière, whose 3,747 metres height makes it
the highest French peak accessible with no equipment in summer.
